The Galena Cottage sits on County Road 23A in North Norwich, a stretch of road that still feels like a secret. No through traffic. No neon. Just trees, a mailbox, and the kind of quiet that makes you notice things — the way light falls through a window, the sound of a screen door, the particular green of a July morning.
We opened the cottage because we wanted a place to come when the city got too loud. It turned out other people wanted it too. We keep it simple: clean beds, a working kitchen, hot water, Wi-Fi that actually works, and a porch where you can sit without anyone asking you to hurry up.
The Southern Tier doesn't announce itself. You have to slow down to notice the fishing ponds, the fall color on the ridges, the old stone walls that mark property lines from two centuries ago. That's the pace we keep here.

We're at 243 County Road 23A, just past the last traffic light in North Norwich. The road curves, the trees close in, and you know you've arrived when the mailbox appears.
Chenango Forks is ten minutes east. Norwich, with its restaurants and medical facilities, is fifteen. If you're here for fishing, the Susquehanna and its tributaries are a short drive. If you're here for autumn color, you're already in the middle of it.
